Graduation day from Dental Hygiene school - Founder of Realist RDH™

The Realist RDH Story

In 2011, I graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – School of Health Related Professions. This was my graduation day, and I’m soo happy that I was able to share this moment with my beautiful mama.

I graduated not knowing what the future held, but I was eager to get started and find out. It’s now been well over a decade, and every day continues to surprise me and teach me something new. One thing I can tell you is that we can plan all we want, but things hardly ever end up that way. The reality of the dental hygiene profession often looks very different from what students are told in school.

I created Realist RDH to help bridge that gap. Not only to provide honest information about the profession itself, but also to have real conversations with the hygienists already working in it. This is about more than teeth and patient care. It’s about taking care of ourselves, understanding our options, and recognizing that our careers can evolve just as we do.

Through books, reports, and practical career guidance, my goal is simple: to provide direct, unfiltered, and honest information so students and working hygienists can make informed decisions about their careers—without the bullshit.
